Stone Pony is a music initiative that promotes original artists and even the odd poet.
The concept of a venue south of Adelaide which supported writers of songs, instrumentals and poetry, arose from a discussion in mid 2009 among a small group of singer songwriters who had been meeting regularly to share their ideas and their music. From that, the locating of a suitable venue occurred almost by accident – although Willunga with its strong arts focus was always high on the ‘possibles’ list.
It is made clear to the audience from the outset, that this is a ‘listening’ venue, that opportunities to drink and chat present themselves regularly throughout the evening. The intention always is to support the performer. It is the number one priority.
We love original music.
Stone Pony is a not-for-profit music project. It is an audience experience which is built around the live performance of original music in Willunga's historic show hall. Our focus is around good place, good music, good food & beverage and bringing people together.
We will be running shows in February, April, May, September, October, November and December curating a night of music in the format of a double-bill of local and touring artists — with a mini festival for our September show!
Let's make something great!
